For the record, I spent 10 years in banking and finance, and was a Vice President at one of the largest financial institutions in the world. Even so, that experience did not give me any of the knowledge I currently have about money, the Federal Reserve, and how modern banking and finance really works. I sought it out on my own.
Most people in banking and finance have very little knowledge about economics, the fractional reserve banking system, etc.
Dave Ramsey knows a lot about a very narrow slice of the subject matter he covers. Listen to him on debt. But on investing, I suggest someone like Peter Schiff, Jim Rogers, or Charles Goyette.
